Still A Believer

The first time I saw PJ Harvey was in 1992 at the 9:30 Club in Washington DC.   This is when it was still a small club on F Street.  I was fresh out of art school and in awe of her music. At the time I thought what she was doing was high art.   A lofty feeling like that can’t sustain itself over the years but when I was watching her this past Friday at The Warfield(with John Parish) I was still in awe.  She is unique, compelling, and relevant. I was in the presence of a committed art maker. Can somebody put that in a bottle?

  1. Whoa! I was at that PJ Harvey concert at the 9:30 club in 1992! It was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen and started my love of her music. I had never heard any of her music until I saw the band live that night. Do you have any more photos from that concert? Aside from just getting a kick out of seeing proof that the show happened 🙂 it’s also great to see photos from the old club on F Street.
