Fat Text Books

In addition to the content of text book, the interactivity of an Ipad can provide quizzes and video lessons.

Mindshift is a website that covers the intersection of education and technology. The curator of MindShift, Tina Barseghian, hired me to provide photographs to support an article about Houghton Mifflin Harcourt’s Algebra Ipad pilot program at Presidio Middle School in San Francisco.

Being in a middle school brought me back. The sounds of the hallway and the way they echo made me wistful. Then, observing the Ipad in an Algebra class dragged me back to the present. I think printed text books are on their way out!

Here is a post with some student interviews and portraits.
